| Madagascar Expedition Cruises | Maya's Dugong |
| |
Madagascar has long been recognised for its diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes. The island has lush rainforests, imposing mountain peaks and arid plains.
The most spectacular array of diversity is to be found along Madagascar’s northwestern coast, where rare birds and ancient baobab trees, lemurs and chameleons share a stunning backdrop of tropical islands with white-sand beaches with the local villagers.
For the 2010 season of July to September, our guests will have the oppurtunity to discover the incredible northwest region of Madagascar aboard the oceanographic expedition vessel Maya’s Dugong.
Completely retro-fitted for expedition cruising , this former research vessel is ideal for those seeking an off the beaten path adventure holiday, without forgoing the comfort befitting of a modern yacht. With only 9 cabins and only ever 24 passengers ( maximum) in total, expedition cruises aboard the vessel are intimate enough to allow guests flexibility in how they spend their holiday, be it snorkelling or diving, wildlife trekking or simply relaxing.
Using Maya’s Dugong as a floating platform for this expedition allows travellers to experience the best of the unique world that is Northwest Madagascar, with the experience of a dedicated onboard naturalist and a dive guide to provide insights to guests during the entire adventure.
